Chug-Chug Train by Marx – 1972

We have another train from the 1972 Aldens catalog. This time it is a Marx version. The ad doesn’t say what scale it is, but it appears to be an “O” scale. If someone knows for sure please let me know. This train has a built in chug-chug engine noise and comes with a cardboard town.

Lionel O Scale Train Set from 1972

Always loved model trains. This one from Lionel has an engine that smokes. It reminds me of my father’s train set.

(It says .027 gauge which I believe is an “O” scale.)

My father still has his American Flyer that he had when he was a kid. It still works after all these years. It also has a smoking stack and the three rail tracks like this one does.

Tomy Windup Robot from 1978

My grandmother bought one of these for me and I absolute loved that robot. I had told my wife about it and she tried many times to get me one on eBay but she always seemed to get outbid. I also tried a few times on eBay myself and was also outbid. It was just more than I wanted to pay for it.

A couple of years ago I was at my parents for Christmas. My dad and I were going thru two old wooden toy chests that were still in the basement. Lo and behold, I found that robot in one of the chests. I was thrilled beyond belief that I still had it. I thought it was lost all these years. It is now home and on display in my office.
